What are the advantages of Viscofoam material?

Once in America…

A prototype of this material was developed in 1973 by NASA for space programs to reduce the reverse pressure on astronauts’ bodies during spacecraft launches and landings.

Such material is called «Viscoelastic», which means «slowly restoring shape». However this material was short-lived, and some companies improved it and began to use it in the manufacture of mattresses. This is how the Viscofoam® material came about. It is a multitude of bubble cells with microscopic holes in the walls. When pressed, the air flows through these openings from one cell to the other, thereby absorbing the reverse pressure. In addition, air circulation through the holes between the cells creates internal ventilation of the material, which gives it high hygienic characteristics.

Why do you need the «memory of the form»?

«Shaping», or, a slow recovery of the material needed to reduce the reverse pressure on the body of a lying person. Thus, the bone, muscle and vascular systems are in a relaxed position, blood circulation is normalized, the body takes the right anatomical position.

Viscofoam® is a material that responds not only to human pressure but also to human body temperature.

Softening under the heat and weight of the human body, the material adopts its precise contours, which provides maximum relaxation.

The orthopedic effect of softness-stiffness is achieved by the fact that the material bends only under the protruding parts of the body, levelling it over the surface and minimizing pressure, helping to relieve pain in sensitive areas of the body such as: the back, neck… The most «gentle» parts of the body contact with the mattress, not experiencing pressure, which allows a person to move 4 times less in his sleep, respectively, wake up more rested. The Viscofoam® material makes it possible to forget back, neck and joint pains.
